The Donadodoo

A reading machine

The Donadodoo On Stage

With The Donadodoo, the silence of reading becomes a true moment of living art shared with an audience.

The Donadodoo can be seen as a big book of which each page – and sometimes even words – has a life of its own and occupies the space like an actor on stage. When folded, the pages leave a gap that allows the animator to be in constant visual contact with the audience.

The Donadodoo as a Pedagogical Tool

Alongside the performances, The Donadodoo offers ‘reading and artistic expression’ workshops. These workshops promote a fun and interactive approach to reading, enabling pupils to engage with the written text of a story both mentally and physically.
The target audience ranges from primary schools, where learning to read is a key priority, to introductory courses in the host language for new arrivals, right through to higher education in the arts, where The Donadodoo can stimulate engagement with various art forms (visual arts, theatre, music, dance).
