The cellar

In January 1952, after a kidnapping which still remains unexplained, Oskar Serti was imprisonned and tied for more than one week to this radiator.
During the first days of his imprisonned, in the absence of any contact with his kid-nappers, he spent his time trying to untie the bands which prohibited him from identifying the place where he was retained.
At the end of the third day, he finally managed to free himself of the blind-fold, Oskar Serti was surprised to discover, after a period of adaptation to the surrounding darkness, that the general appearance of his prison revealed itself as being practically conform with the mental picture which had developed during his forced blinding. The only difference, once his eyes were open, was that he no longer felt this imaginary presence which he had continuously supposed at his side during the preceding days.
The sixth day, his loneliness became so devastating that he decided to blind-fold himself again.
